| WHO: | Brigadier General Ezell Ware, Jr., born in Alabama in 1941, was raised by his mother’s parents in Magee, Mississippi. After Ezell spent four years as a Marine, he enlisted in the U.S. Army under the flight-training program in 1966, and served with distinction as a pilot in Vietnam and Germany. One year after leaving the active army in 1972, Ezell joined the California National Guard (Sacramento, CA), where he remained for 30 years, and rose to the rank of Brigadier General and Chief Assistant Adjutant General.
Ezell’s military decorations include the Legion of Merit, thirteen Air Medals, three Merit Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals and an Army Commendation Medal with V for valor. An acknowledged fighter in all arenas of life, his motto is: “Keep going until you get there, then keep on going.” Now retired from the military, Ezell is currently a highly decorated officer, compassionate community leader and successful businessperson. His autobiography, By Duty Bound, is in bookstores now. |
