BALTIMORE, February 28, 2006 – Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has won top honors in Airport Revenue News’ 2006 Best Concessions Poll. Awards for “Best Concessions Design,” in the Large Airport Division, along with awards for individual operators Fire & Ice, for “Best Airport Retail Store Design,” Jos. A. Bank, for “Best New Specialty Retail Concept,” Hudson News, for “Best Airport News & Gift Operator,” and Borders Books, for “Best Retail Specialty Brand Operator,” were earned by BWI and its AIRMALL®, which is managed by BAA Maryland.

BAA Maryland, the developer and manager of the new and refurbished concession space at BWI, has brought its AIRMALL® concept to BWI, adding an exciting mix of national and regional branded shops and restaurants and giving much of the airport a makeover, enabling BWI to compete with the best airports in the country. RTKL, based in Baltimore, MD, an international architecture, engineering and planning firm, played an integral role in the design of the new BWI concession development.
