CLEVELAND – Spring travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) will discover a variety of new places to enjoy a tasty bite and beverage before takeoff. In the last few months, the airport welcomed back hometown favorites like Panini’s Bar & Grill and introduced new concepts, including Wow Bao and the recently announced Shake Shack.
“We are pleased to welcome our operators and offer travelers more exciting food and drink options at the airport,” said Tina LaForte, vice president of Fraport Cleveland, developer of the retail program at CLE. “These new arrivals offer a little something for every taste.”
- First to land in Concourse C, Wow Bao specializes in hot Asian steamed buns, potstickers, rice and noodle bowls, and hearty soups. Bao, a favorite portable snack in Asia, are filled with sweet, savory, and breakfast flavors. Hours are Sunday through Thursday, 4 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.; and 4 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
- The new Embers Fire & Ice martini and tapas bar in the Main Terminal (past the central security checkpoint) offers bites like buffalo and beer chili, coconut shrimp, and pretzel-coated cheese curds. Early starters can fuel their day at Embers with French toast or hangover fries, a combination of fried eggs, bacon, cheddar, beer cheese, pickles, green onion, pepperoncini, and creole seasoning. Hours are Sunday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
- The ever-popular Panini’s Bar & Grill returns with a new 2,540 square-foot restaurant in Concourse A. Panini’s is famous for overstuffed sandwiches served on fresh Italian bread with hand-cut fries or signature slaw, tomato and melted provolone. This American bar food restaurant offers fun starters like crispy pickle chips and the ultimate nachos to fan favorites including turkey stacks, Polish boy, fish tacos, salads, wraps, pizza, wings, and also breakfast until 10 a.m. Hours are Monday through Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 4 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.; and 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Sunday.
- March 11, Quaker Steak & Lube reopened in Concourse B with a shiny new look and new menu items. The 1,811 square-foot restaurant is known for starters like O-rings, chicken chipotle quesadilla and fried mozzarella, plus wings with choice of 18 sauces, salads, steak burgers, and steak sandwiches. New breakfast offerings include a wrap, loaded home fries and market cut bacon served until 11 a.m. Hours are Sunday through Friday, 4 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.; and 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Cleveland’s very own Inca Tea Café was also voted Best Airport Grab-and-Go Dining in USA Today’s 2019 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards. Inca Tea serves up signature, fresh brewed teas, delicious sandwiches, salads, smoothies and a variety of organic and locally made treats in two locations at the airport, gates B4 and C10.
CLE visitors will have more tasty dining options to choose from with the openings of 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen and Cantina Taqueria and Tequila Bar in the coming months.
