The Tennessee Tribune store debuts at Nashville International Airport

State’s largest minority newspaper celebrates three decades serving the African-American community

NASHVILLE – Have you heard the news? Today, Skyport Hospitality and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) owner/operator Jennifer Winchester opened the first of two The Tennessee Tribune retail outlets at the Nashville International Airport. Named after the state’s prominent African-American newspaper and led by its founder, Mrs. Rosetta Miller-Perry, a U.S. Navy veteran, entrepreneur, and lifelong supporter of diversity, The Tennessee Tribune store brings a unique approach to an airport marketplace with a focus on promoting and supporting local vendors.

“BNA® welcomes The Tennessee Tribune shop and the rich diversity of talented vendors it brings to travelers,” said Doug Kreulen, president and CEO of Nashville International Airport®. “We thank our business partners Jennifer Winchester and Skyport Hospitality, and we honor the vision and longstanding commitment to the African-American community from Mrs. Rosetta Miller-Perry.”

The Tennessee Tribune store presents an exciting retail mix for travelers in 1,893 square feet of space. The offerings range from snacks, apparel, packaged coffee and tea, spirits, HBCU collegiate apparel, jewelry, works by local authors, sports memorabilia, collectibles, renowned food and drink brands, and much more. The store is located between Concourses C and D.

“This new concept honors the work of founder and publisher/CEO Mrs. Rosetta Miller-Perry and the 30-year legacy she has built by serving the community and caring for others. The Tennessee Tribune’s insightful coverage positively impacts the community,” said Matt Jennings, Vice President Fraport Tennessee. “With a growing presence at BNA®, visitors can learn about her tremendous contributions to African-Americans and the community overall, while experiencing Middle Tennessee’s diverse cultural offerings.”

The new store carries world-renowned brands such as Winfrey Family Foods, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey and Kandles by Kierra, as well as Kernels Popcorn Nashville, Maggie Allen Candy, Smokin Joe’s Food, and others.

The Tennessee Tribune’s second location pre-security is set to open in spring 2022. The 1,200-square-foot store will feature a similar lineup of local vendors as well as grab-and-go products to ensure an authentic experience for travelers.
